June 9, 2025 [HERNDON, VA] —  June is National Safety Month, a time to recognize and reinforce the importance of safety in every environment—from well-managed facilities to job sites. The Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association (CMHA) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2024 Safety Awards, recognizing outstanding safety performance across the industry.

This year, CMHA awarded a record 231 Safety Awards to member manufacturing plants and contractors across North America. These awards recognize organizations that prioritize worker safety and maintain a strong safety record.

“We awarded 49% more safety awards this year than in 2023,” said Bob Thomas, President and CEO of CMHA. “Our members continue to lead by example, showing that safety is not just a requirement—it’s a standard they set and uphold. Their consistent performance reflects the professionalism and responsibility that define this industry.”

Award eligibility was based on OSHA 300A logs or equivalent Canadian injury reports from January 1 to December 31, 2024. This year’s awards include:

•    14 Milestone Awards: Given to facilities with more than five consecutive years of program participation and zero reportable injuries.
•    159 Platinum Awards: Highest level of single-year safety achievement.
•    52 Gold Awards
•    6 Silver Awards

Thomas added, “For our Platinum Award Winners, we have several companies that have not had accidents in 5-11 consecutive years, and if you were to add up the total number of years with no accidents, that comes out to 107 years! That is just fantastic!”

Award levels were determined using formulas based on Incident Rate (IR) and Days Away, Restrictions, and Transfers Rate (DART).
