Day Three Recap: CMHA Annual Meeting – How It All Comes Together

As we near the end of CMHA’s 2025 Annual Meeting, day three highlights the teamwork, planning, and dedication that makes this event a success year after year. From insightful committee meetings to the networking opportunities that bring industry professionals together, this gathering serves as a cornerstone for advancing the concrete masonry and hardscape industry.

Why Indianapolis? A Prime Location for Connection

Each year, the location for CMHA’s Annual Meeting is selected in partnership with The Precast Show (TPS), ensuring it aligns with industry needs. CMHA will continue to follow TPS locations through 2027, and this year’s host city, Indianapolis, has proven to be an exceptional choice.

Indy isn’t just a convention city—it’s a place where business and networking thrive. With walkable access to world-class restaurants like St. Elmo’s Steak House, vibrant nightlife including Tom’s Watch Bar, and a seamless hotel-to-venue experience through enclosed walkways, attendees have been able to make the most of their time here. Whether flying in or driving, Indy has provided an accessible and welcoming environment for our industry professionals.

“It’s a city known for fast cars and blockbuster events, but it has also gained acclaim for a flourishing culinary and brewing scene, thriving cultural institutions, cool neighborhoods, and much more,” said Erin Hobson, CMHA Director of Meetings & Events.

The Value of the CMHA Annual Meeting

Beyond the events and social opportunities, the Annual Meeting serves a crucial role in shaping the industry’s future. Committees gather to make budgetary requests, evaluate ongoing programs, and strategize for the year ahead. The meeting also leads directly into The Precast Show, ensuring members can engage with the latest innovations and technologies in the industry.

“This meeting is where real progress happens—where members come together, collaborate, and drive meaningful change for our industry,” shared Hobson.

Meet the Team Behind the Event

Planning an event of this scale takes an incredible amount of effort, and the CMHA team works tirelessly behind the scenes to bring everything together.

Erin Hobson, CMP – Director of Meetings & Events
With nearly 20 years of event planning experience, Erin thrives on details and multitasking. Her background spans everything from planning weddings to government events, but her passion lies in association meetings like CMHA’s. Based just outside Charlotte, NC, Erin balances her fast-paced career with family life, raising two young children while still finding time for line dancing and sourdough baking!

Dana Hartung – Manager of Meetings & Events
Dana has also dedicated nearly two decades to the events industry, with eight years focused on association meetings. Originally from the Northeast and now settled in Northern Virginia, she manages the intricate logistics of CMHA’s events while enjoying time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and Great Dane.

“It’s all about the details,” says Hobson. “The little things make a big difference in putting this event together to run smoothly and ensure attendees have the best experience possible.”

Gratitude for Our Sponsors & Partnerships

CMHA’s Annual Meeting wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our meeting sponsors. Their contributions help keep registration fees manageable and provide essential funding for the event, covering nearly one-third of the association’s revenue per meeting.

“Our sponsors are the backbone of these events, allowing us to create meaningful experiences while keeping costs accessible for our members. We are incredibly grateful for their continued support,” Hobson expressed.

Additionally, CMHA is proud to be a supporting organization of The Precast Show, working alongside NPCA and PCI to ensure industry professionals have access to world-class networking and educational opportunities all in one place.
