Student Design Competitions

A primary goal of the NCMA Education and Research Foundation is educating the next generation of designers and engineers. Student Design Competitions expose the next generation to the production, design, and construction of masonry and/or manufactured concrete hardscape products.

The NCMA Education and Research Foundation is committed to supporting the education of architecture and engineering students and is making available resources, in the form of grants from the foundation, to create educational opportunities for these developing design professionals.  These programs expose the next generation of designers to the production, design, and construction of masonry and/or manufactured concrete hardscape products.  It is easy to apply for a grant and organize a competition.  You can find templates for Student Design Competition grants using the links at the top of the page.

Who Should Submit the Applications?

Student design competition grant applications should be submitted by the college or university professor who will be primarily responsible for the implementation of the competition (the Organizing Professor). To ensure that local industry resources (speakers, facilities, plant tours, materials, and expertise) will be available to support the competition, the grant application must be endorsed, either by the local NCMA State and Province Alliance association or by a local NCMA Producer Member company. Please let us know if you would like our help in arranging local support.  Please modify or expand upon the application as necessary to communicate the objectives of your competition.
