By accessing the CMHA website, ordering, registering, or requesting information, you are consenting to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy.

Personal Information Collected:

It is the general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. For general users browsing the CMHA website, CMHA does not collect personal information. Only aggregate data, such as the number of hits per page, are collected and used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.

CMHA may collect personal information from you when you order, register for events, create  website account, subscribe to CMHA’s newsletter and communications, submit committee applications, or request information through our website or by phone, email, or mail. Personal information that CMHA may collect includes name, email address, mailing address, phone and fax numbers, and credit/debit card information.

In some cases, CMHA may also collect information related to your employment, including employer name, employer type, and job title/position. You may also be required to submit additional professional and educational background when applying for CMHA certifications or committee membership.

How CMHA Uses Your Information:

CMHA may use your information in the following ways:

  • To manage orders, process payments and refunds, and fulfill shipments
  • To deliver newsletters, receipts, and other correspondence
  • To send information about your order or event registration
  • To notify you about changes to event activities or schedules
  • To provide information about new products and services
  • To conduct analysis of customer and membership demographics
  • To respond to customer service requests and provide support
  • To prevent fraudulent transactions
  • To perform other business activities as needed.

We may also make member data available to companies offering CMHA member benefits and to other responsible third parties that may offer relevant products and services. Please refer to CMHA’s Policy Manual for additional information on other privacy issues.

CMHA maintains several online directories of member companies, certified Installers, certificate holders, authorized trainers, MSV Product Certification and Certified Plants. For member companies, individual personal information is not provided. Information displayed includes company name, city, state, phone number, and website. Individuals can opt out of being included in directories on the membership application form. For Certified Installers, information provided includes full name, company name, city, state, phone number, and email address. Installers can opt-out of the directory by contacting CMHA or calling 703-713-1900.

CMHA may distribute certain personal information to other attendees when you register for a meeting, seminar, workshop, trade show or conference. This information may include first name, last name, business name, city and state. Attendees who do not want this information shared can opt-out by contacting CMHA or calling 703-713-1900.

Children’s Personal Information:

CMHA does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 nor does CMHA market to children.

Cookies:

A “cookie” is a text file, stored on your computer that includes information that identifies that computer and can be retrieved by our server to create a seamless browsing session. The CMHA website may use cookies to store your information and compile aggregate site traffic data. Most browsers accept cookies by default. If you set your browser to reject all cookies, certain areas of the CMHA website may not function properly. Most browsers have a setting whereby the browser alerts you when a server attempts to place a cookie in your hard drive; you are given the option of accepting or rejecting it.

Links to Other Websites:

The CMHA website and other electronic communications contains links to other websites. CMHA has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Check the privacy policy of a website before revealing any personal information.

Security:

CMHA maintains administrative, technical, and physical measures, including industry-standard encryption, to protect user information. Personal information is accessible by a limited number of persons with special access rights to this information. However, no website or data transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, users are also responsible for taking the appropriate steps to protect their personal information.

Third-Party Disclosure:

Newsletters, membership notices, event announcements, product marketing, and other email marketing messages are sent to subscribers through Hubspot. CMHA may share your name, email address, company, city, and state with Hubspot for this purpose.

CMHA may also release information when appropriate in order to comply with the law, enforce site policies, protect the rights, property, or safety of CMHA, or when investigating fraud or other illegal activities.
